In the South of France, garlic is used daily by many cooks, flavor may be the reason, but nutrition is the reality.it is used as worm and parasite cures for pets and people.it is recommended for sleep disorders and all common ills. rubbed on toast or steeped in milk for head-ache,ear-ache,tooth-ache or belly-ache.there are entire books written about this wondrous bulb, and enough jokes to make you well.fear not the loss of friends but the loss of health if you avoid the fragrant herb.i use the green garlic stems and its cousin ramps, wild leeks and wild garlic to go along a perenial springtime cure after a winter of fireside pollution and indoor stagnation.generations of sturdy Mediterranean and south western Europeans can vouch to the health benefits of this most potent herbal value.

you have reminded fond;y me of an article I read long ago that enamored me to the historical folklore of garlic — it’s so true how certain cultures have it as part of their very every day for that very reason. I like the word sturdy at a farmer’s market I saw scapes for the first time, how did i ever miss out on those and what does one do with them ??
